He made the whole thing very easy, from the initial prompt response to our inquiry (and it was a very last minute thing!), to the great instructions he gave us for driving ourselves there, to making sure we got to Mzolis' restaurant, and then to the airport on time. I would give this 6 stars if I could! More Show less 100% recommend doing this to dispel any myths or preconceptions about township life and to get a real insight into the reality of South Africa. I'm only two days into my trip and I already know that this will be one of the highlights. The tour didn't feel voyeuristic at all and he has such a good relationship with the community that many in fact proudly invited us into their homes to look around. ![]() No question felt stupid and it really was a pleasure having him take me around. It never once felt like he was patronising me and explained the history and culture of the townships in a honest and objective way. He is an incredibly informative and friendly tour guide with a unique ability to engage his customers. Andrew was prompt in responding to all my queries over e-mail and was more than willing to incorporate certain things I was interested in into the walking tour. I didn't stay at the guesthouse but had the good fortune of having Andrew take me on a walking tour of the Gugulethu and Langa townships.
